Ivory Canes

For today’s collector, ivory walking canes are available from the mid-17th to the early 20th century, from the era of the Pique cane, to that of the art deco. Ivory is a generic term and covers elephant tusk, hippopotamus teeth and marine ivory from whales and walruses. Carved in many parts of the world including Europe, Asia and Africa, fine examples from centres of excellence such as Dieppe and the Black Forest are much sought after.
